Assessment and evaluation will be based on the provincial curriculum expectations and the achievement levels outlined in those documents. The 4 levels of achievement correspond to the letter grades on report cards as follows (4=A, 3=B, 2=C, and 1=D).
Provincial Achievement Chart:
Level 4 (A):
Student achievement demonstrates the knowledge and skills in a sophisticated way. Thorough and sophisticated knowledge/ability. Achievement surpasses the standard.
Level 3 (B):
Student achievement is at the provincial standard. Students are prepared for work in the next grade. Considerable knowledge/ability.
Level 2 (C):
Student achievement approaches the provincial standard. Some knowledge/ability.
Level 1 (D):
Student achievement falls below the provincial standard (while still passing). Limited knowledge/ability.
R:
Below grade level expectations. Remediation required.
